Gqeberha, 09 February 2026: Red Bull Dance Your Style 2024 champion Mason “Beasty” Booysen has done it again. The young Gqeberha local secured his spot in the national finals after winning the Red Bull Dance Your Style GQ Qualifier for the second time, delivering a jaw-dropping performance at Shark Rock Pier.

The crowd went wild as dancers from different styles battled it out in a 1-on-1 faceoff, showcasing their unique freestyle moves at the Red Bull Dance Your Style Qualifier, a long-running global street dance competition. This is not like other events because the winner is chosen by the public and the focus is on freestyle dancing.

“I didn’t come into today’s competition expecting a win, so I’m very proud of myself and honoured to represent GQ at the national finals. I really enjoyed today’s competition, even though I was a bit nervous to go up against my older brother Spidey in the final round,” commented Beasty.

Beasty’s brother, Spidey, expressed that the final round was a tough one, given that he and Beasty train together and know each other’s strengths. “The second round in the finals was my favourite, Beasty surprised me with moves I have never seen him do before,” commented Spidey.
Going into the national finals taking place in Bloemfontein, Beasty will be putting in more training, focusing on his creativity, musicality and his breathing to make him a stronger competitor.
