EEQUE PRESENTS ‘CONCRETE JUNGLE’ EP – AN UNFILTERED EMOTIONAL JOURNEY SPARKED BY THE MAGIC OF COLLABORATION

In an exclusive interview with the Yanos Plug, Leago Sinclair Moganedi, professionally known as Eeque, explores the inspirations behind his latest song ‘Osaletseng Morao.’ He unravels the emotions and feelings that fuel this track, sharing his personal journey and inviting listeners to connect with his music on a profound level. Additionally, the interview offers an exciting glimpse into his ongoing album ‘Concrete Jungle,’ which made its highly anticipated debut on the 4th of August.

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your debut EP ‘Concrete Jungle’?

My inspiration came from my deep love for music. When you give it a listen, you’ll feel it. I’ve mixed in different sounds – you know, Sgubhu and Piano – to create something truly special.

‘Osaletseng Morao’ is your first single from the EP, ‘Concrete Jungle,’ and it features some popular artists. How did those collaborations come about?

I can’t say I organized the sessions to happen. We’re always in the studio, making music together. During one session, I thought, why not create a song together? And bam, ‘Osaletseng Morao’ was born.

How have prominent figures in the industry such as Uncle Waffles and Mr JazziQ influenced your musical journey so far?

Working with some of the biggest names in the industry is quite dope because you get to learn a lot. They guide you and make it work. I really appreciate those figures who say ‘Haai ntwana chuna soh’ [tsotsi taal, which translates to, ‘No boy, this how it’s done].

Can you share some of the themes and messages you delve into your EP, Concrete Jungle’?

My music comes from my emotions, you know? It’s all about how I feel. I touch on different emotions we all go through as humans. That’s why people connect with my music – it’s real. Whenever you hear me, just know that this guy was feeling it!

How can you say your sound sets you apart from other rising stars?

I won’t claim my sound is drastically different, but it’s the message that matters. Many artists just aim for hits, but I want my music to hit you on a deeper level. Life isn’t all about parties; there’s more depth to explore.

What are your aspirations and future plans after the release?

I want everyone to stay tuned to my socials. That’s where I’ll drop all the updates, and give you a sneak peek into what’s next.

Who do you wish to collaborate with, both locally and internationally?

Locally, I’ve been lucky to work with many artists I’ve wanted to collaborate with. Internationally, I’ve got my eye on talents like WizKid and Burna Boy. Their vibe aligns with my music
