TMAN XPRESS FINDS HIS ‘REASON FOR BEING’ IN NEW ALBUM’IKIGAI – THE SECOND SAMURAI

Amapiano sensation TmanXpress released his highly anticipated new album ‘IKIGAI (The Second Samurai)’ yesterday. Having taken the Amapiano scene by storm as one of the most prominent voices in the genre being featured on hits such as Imnandi Lento, Kwelinye, Amasango and Imali iKhona his exceptional vocal prowess has cemented his position and earned him the reputation of being the ultimate “cheat code” vocalist for hits. The vocalist returns with his latest offering ready to continue his reign of dominating the streets, radio airwaves and streaming charts fulfilling his purpose in life.

TmanXpress speaks on the meaning and inspiration of his latest offering, ‘ IKIGAI (The Second Samurai)’. “The album concept was inspired by a Japanese friend, who has played a pivotal role in aiding my musical dream when I was at my lowest. He ensured that I never gave up on my Ikigai”
Breaking down the titled of the album he shares; “IKIGAI is a Japanese word or concept that means ‘your reason for being’. ‘Iki’ in Japanese means ‘Life’ and ‘gai’ describes value or worth. Your IKIGAI is your life purpose or your bliss. It is what brings your joy or inspires you to get out of bed every day. This is the Album Title from the first series (The First Samurai), “I was born to be an artist, to entertain the masses through my creative craft, this is what I live for, this is my IKIGAI”.

‘IKIGAI (The Second Samurai) is the manifestation of Tman Xpress’s lifelong purpose. Each track on the album embodies a testament to his belief that his destiny was always meant to be realized through the art of music.

Indlela with Kabza De Small sets the tone of the album as the opening single for the album, “This song preaches a journey of life, self-worth and finding yourself, it speaks of what I’ve been through and how my heart responds to it. Here I express the power of prayer, the power of self-belief, the power of persistence and perseverance, the power of patience and humbleness, and the power of the heart. The lyrics are centred around my upbringing and childhood memories. The style and flow will tell you where I come from and who I am, and there is no better way of expressing my feelings deeper than I have in this song,” says Tman Xpress.
