Johannesburg – Actor, DJ, and now recording artist, Thuli Phongolo—popularly known as Thuli P—is officially stepping into the music industry following a successful DJ career and growing demand for her original music
Thuli’s journey in entertainment began at just 15 on SABC 1’s hit series Tshisa. Her passion, hunger to learn, and dedication to growth opened doors for her to present on Craz-e, land lead roles on shows like Thula, and gain widespread recognition on the iconic TV soap Generations. She later showcased her talent in Makoti, The Republic, Rockville, and The Wife. Each project has shaped her craft and deepened her appreciation for storytelling.

In 2017, Thuli’s love for music led her to DJing, a move that transformed her creative path. Having been featured on popular tracks and mentioned in numerous songs, it was a natural progression for her to step into creating her own music. She has dropped her debut single, Hai Suka—the lead track from her upcoming EP Avana, featuring Nia Pearl and Leandra Vert. The song celebrates empowered women taking charge of their lives, encouraging them to be bold, strong, and unapologetically themselves. Simply put: to be that woman—be HER.
Hai Suka is now available to stream on all major music platforms.
Thuli’s music will be released under her newly founded AVANA Records, which will serve as the home for her musical journey. Her first EP, Avana, will mark the beginning of this exciting new chapter, with more updates to come on her social media.
