MAS MUSIQ DROPS LONG-AWAITED ALBUM ‘LANE YAM,’ A TRIUMPHANT CELEBRATION OF INDIVIDUALITY AND INNOVATION

The release of Lane Yam is preceded by the lead single, ‘Abafana,’ which dropped on the 23^rd of August 24. ‘Abafana’ sees Mas Musiq teaming up with powerhouse Chley and renowned songwriter and music composer KJM-Cornetist. ‘Abafana’ has been described as the life of the party, with Chley’s distinctive voice seamlessly complemented by KJM-Cornetist’s nostalgic cornet sounds. “It’s a fun song that offers a fresh auditory experience while retaining that classic dancefloor spirit,” says Mas Musiq. “Like most songs on my project it gives you an element of sound you’ve never heard before and not forgetting the soul.”

Following the success of ‘Abafana,’ Mas Musiq also released another single, ‘Ubuhle Bakho,’ further showcasing his range and creative vision.

It represents all the masses and their responsibilities while capturing the essence of their day-to-day endeavours. Everyone has their lane and this is my interpolation of how I interpret the struggles and tribulations of the world around me.”
