Mpumalanga’s Rising Star Kgadee Set to Release Her Debut EP ‘Escape’

Kgadee is emerging as one of South Africa’s most authentic new voices in Afro-pop. Her sound, a seamless blend of Afro-pop, R&B, and dancehall, is more than music; it’s medicine for the soul.
Born and raised in Mpumalanga, Kgadee’s love for music began at home, inspired by her mother’s heartfelt gospel songwriting in Sepedi. What started as a childhood curiosity soon became a calling. “Music has always been my way of expressing what words alone couldn’t,” she says.
A Sound That Mirrors Her Story
Kgadee’s artistry reflects her journey: vibrant yet reflective, fierce yet vulnerable. Her inspirations include Wizkid, Chronixx, Cici, Tyla, and Nathi, to name a few, artists who, like her, fuse rhythm and emotion to tell deeply personal stories.
She has evolved into a voice of power and sensitivity, not only through her own original music but also through soulful covers of iconic songs like “Creep,” where her emotional depth and authenticity shine through. Kgadee transforms experiences of love, heartbreak, anger, and joy into melodies that move, heal, and remind listeners that vulnerability is strength.
Escape: A Journey Into Freedom and Healing
Kgadee is set to release an EP soon, Escape, which promises to take listeners on a transformative journey, a space where heart, mind, and spirit can breathe freely. With each track, she invites fans to explore emotional freedom and the courage to live authentically.
“Escape is about letting go of what holds us back,” Kgadee explains. “It’s about embracing the freedom to feel, to heal, and to just be. My goal is to inspire others through honesty and music that touches the spirit.”
Beyond the Music
Off-stage, Kgadee describes herself as “an onion with many layers.” Her artistry extends beyond music; she’s a dancer, a mentor, a woman of faith, and a believer in the transformative power of art. Through her music, she aims to inspire young people, especially women, to embrace their voices and live with authenticity.
Her long-term vision is to build platforms that open doors for upcoming artists from underrepresented communities, taking her message of emotional liberation from Mpumalanga to the world.
