Johannesburg, Friday, 21st February 25- Mr JazziQ, a dominant force in the music industry, is starting the year with a bang. Releasing his highly anticipated new single ‘MAJOZI.’ Alongside the release, the talented DJ & producer also unveils the official music video. Marking a major milestone as Mr JazziQ ventures into music video direction for the very first time.
‘MAJOZI’ is a collaboration that brings together an all-star lineup, with Mr JazziQ teaming up with the best in the business. The track features hitmakers, Vigro Deep, Mellow & Sleazy, and Scotts Maphuma, alongside rising stars Cowboii and Xduppy.
The content of the song itself sets the stage for an unforgettable vibe. Scotts Maphuma’s opening line in ‘MAJOZI’ immediately grabs attention, serving as a warning of the good times that are about to unfold. It paints a picture of such an electrifying atmosphere that even the gangsters are on leave, ready to attend festivals and comfortably be caught on camera. The line signals an event that’s bound to be one of the most talked-about moments of the year.
Rising star Cowboii, inspired by Scotts Maphuma’s lyrics, adds his flair to the track. He emphasizes the message that the party is in full swing, urging the partiers to keep the drinks flowing as he, JazziQ, and Sleazy are all in the building. With “MAJOZI,” the collaboration is not just a song – it’s a celebration, a signal that 2025 is going to be a year to remember.
In an exclusive statement, Mr JazziQ shares, “MAJOZI is my first official release of the year and comes with a music video, which is a first for me! Re shapa spaan chommie. The song was created late last year in conjunction with my strikers, Mellow and Sleazy, Vigro, Duppy, Cowboii and Scotts Maphuma. I remember the exact night that the beat was created, we all wouldn’t stop dancing to the arrangement that we had just put together and obviously everyone in studio was dressed in NIKE that night.”
When it came time to create the visuals, Mr JazziQ and his team were determined to capture the same raw energy and excitement that was present in the studio during the creation of the song. “When the opportunity to shoot the visuals came, we wanted to create the same energy and electricity we had created when the song was made and the rest was history,” says Mr JazziQ. “I co-directed the music video myself, so expect even more directing work from me this year and enjoy.”
With ‘MAJOZI,’ Mr JazziQ reiterates and further cements his position in the amapiano space, both through his music and his visual projects. The single, along with the official music video video, is available for streaming
