Red Bull Dance Your Style Announces Top 16 for 2026 National Finals

Bloemfontein hosts its first-ever National Final on 28 March 2026 as South Africa’s fiercest freestyle talent converge for one shot at the world stage
Bloemfontein, 25 March 2026: The field is confirmed. Sixteen of South Africa’s finest freestyle dancers have earned their place at the 2026 Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals, and the lineup is the most compelling in the competition’s local history. On 28 March 2026, Bloemfontein’s Old Grey Sports Club hosts the event for the very first time, and with a hometown finalist already in the mix, the city has never had more reason to show up.

The Field is Set, and It’s Personal
Returning to defend his 2024 national title is Gqeberha’s Mason “Beasty” Booysen. At just 18 years old, Beasty became a national sensation when he won the 2024 Final on home soil, then represented South Africa at the World Final in Mumbai. Now he’s back, this time having already dispatched his own brother Spidey in the GQ regional final. “He surprised me with moves I’ve never seen him do before,” said Spidey post-battle. If he’s pulling new moves on family, the rest of the Top 16 should be nervous.
Standing between Beasty and back-to-back titles is a field that is younger, hungrier, and more diverse than ever, including 2021 champion Shanny J.

Bloemfontein’s own Relebohile Matiya (18) made history at the regional qualifier by becoming the first female dancer to win a regional leg in this year’s competition. The hometown crowd carried her to the top. On 28 March, she’ll battle on familiar ground with the weight of a city behind her.
HEAT, HYPE AND HISTORY: INSIDE THE RED BULL DANCE YOUR STYLE QUALIFIERS
From Johannesburg’s Mary Fitzgerald Square comes Vosloorus’ Tumelwano “Duppyy” Mofokeng (18), who arrived at the final qualifier “just to have fun” and left as champion. His effortless confidence and crowd-reading instincts make him one to watch. Cape Town sends Delron Davids (26), a previous regional winner and veteran of the format, who bested a stacked field at The Terrace Rooftop after over 40 dancers fought for a Top 16 spot. Durban’s representative is 17-year-old Lonwabo “Chucky Boy” Jele from Umlazi, pushed into the competition by his coach and already known for a signature move that guarantees crowd reaction every time.

The remaining 11 finalists; Spidey Junior Booysen, (PE), Jorden “Jor-line” Jesse (JHB), Zinzi Rhodes (CPT), Ziyaad Abrahams (CPT), Thabang “Spikiri” Radebe (JHB), Lesego “Ellesge” Molepe (JHB), Kgomotso “Soulistic” Marite (JHB), Shannon “Shanny J” Kivido (JHB), Elvero “Vero” Joe (BLOEM), Luyanda “Louie V” Mkhonjwa (BLOEM), and Likho “LeeCoreBlack” Witbooi (JHB) round out a Top 16 drawn from every corner of Mzansi, bringing with them styles that span pantsula, amapiano, breaking, popping, krump, and beyond.
One Rule. No Judges. You Decide.
Red Bull Dance Your Style is unlike any other dance competition. There is no panel of judges. No pre-selected music. No choreography. The DJ drops unexpected tracks across genres, and the crowd votes for their favourite dancer in each 1-on-1 round using voting cards. Every battle is decided by the audience in real time, creating an atmosphere that is as unpredictable as it is electric.
The 2026 National Champion will earn the right to represent South Africa at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World, which will take place at the Hallenstadion on October 24, 2026, in Zurich, Switzerland.
